After twelve years of waiting and thousands and thousands of guesses and memes with a third installment, Valve has officially announced a new Half-Life game.
As it had been rumored numerous times and documented through code snippets in other games of the company, Half-Life: Alyx is the new installment of the saga, and Valve describes it as his “flagship game for virtual reality.”
Half: Life Alyx will be formally announced this Thursday, November 21, at 7pm Spanish local time. At the moment we do not know where, so we must pay attention to the company’s social networks and Steam.
The Valve News Network published a well-documented video describing how Valve’s boss, Gabe Newell, had said they would have “a flagship title for virtual reality in 2019”.
“That title is a linear first-person shooter focused on the story set in the Half-Life universe. You play as Alix Vance sometime between Half-Life 1 and 2.”
Today the head of the channel, Tyler McVicker, has published another video in response to rumors this morning that Valve would finally announce his project for virtual reality at the Game Awards, with a view to being published in March 2020.
The game appears under the name of Half-Life: Alyx in a leaked transcript of a conversation between Game Awards host Geoff Keighley and Valve employees.
The Game Awards are held on December 12.
